AER is based in Dublin, Ireland and provides a low-cost, scalable process to extract useful products from algae. AER targets 2 separate end-user markets; nutritional products and biofuels. AER is partnering with leading end-user customers to bring the technology to market.

The AER Technology
The AER processes use a proprietary and patent-protected enzyme technology to break down the algae cell wall, releasing the valuable products inside. The process is efficient, scalable and 100% natural. Using the technology, customers can reduce production costs and open new markets. Critically, this biochemical process can disruptively deliver the significant reduction in extraction costs required to deliver commercial algae biofuels.

AER's partners
AER works in partnership with algae farm operators and technology developers to develop a tailored enzyme cocktail, which is optimised for the customer's particular algae strain and end-use application. AER then manufactures the required enzyme cocktail to the customer specification and ships it to the customer, for use in their production process. We also provide a range of consultancy services to support the customer in integrating the AER technology into their existing or planned production facility.

AER's goal is to enter into long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships with our customers. These partnerships are designed to share the value created by embedding the unique AER technology into the customer's algae production process.

History
AER Sustainable Energy is a spin-out of established Irish bioethanol trading company Alternative Energy Resources Ltd. The execution strength of the team behind AER is demonstrated by the fact that, from a standing start in 2006, Alternative Energy Resources Ltd captured a 25% share of the Irish market for fuel ethanol by 2010.
