AER Team

Donal MacNioclais (CEO)

Donal brings a depth of experience and knowledge of clean energy to AER Sustainable Energy Limited. He worked previously at Aquamarine Power, a successful wave energy pioneer, where he led teams on building joint ventures, fundraising, site development and strategy. He has also worked as a consultant at McKinsey and Accenture. Donal has a first class honours masters degree in engineering from Dublin City University, a Diplôme d'Ingénieur, with distinction, from the Institut National des Télécommunications in Evry, France and an MBA, with distinction, from Insead.

Dr. Henrik Møllgaard (CSO)

Henrik has 30 years of senior industrial experience in the field of enzyme development and microbiology R&D, working with industry leaders Novozymes and Christian Hansen. Most recently, Henrik held the position of VP of R&D with enzyme engineering innovator, Direvo.

John Travers (Director)

John has extensive experience in energy and consulting. He has worked for over 16 years in the energy industry, starting as a manager at Shell International in Holland and subsequently leading teams at McKinsey in London, Dublin, the US and Africa. He was the founding CEO of Alternative Energy Resources Limited and led the company through successful growth from 2006 to 2011. He is a founding director of AER Sustainable Energy Limited and the founding managing director of DCC New Energy. He holds an engineering degree from UCD and an MBA from Harvard. He has published a book on Irish enterprise spirit ('Driving the Tiger') and a book on alternative energy ('Green and Gold').

John Teeling (Director)

John has been involved in energy and resource projects for 30 years and is a highly distinguished entrepreneur and business manager. He is the founder and Chairman of Cooley Distillery PLC, Pan Andean Resources, Minco and African Gold and is a former director of Kenmare resources. John holds degrees in economics and business from UCD, an MBA from Wharton and a doctorate in business administration from Harvard. He lectured for 20 years in business and finance at UCD.

Jim Finn (Company Secretary)

Jim has been finance director of Cooley Distillery for over a decade. He holds board positions in five listed natural resources companies. He has extensive experience in fund raising and listing companies of the Stock Exchange. He holds a degree in management from Dublin University and is a qualified accountant.
